Featured by NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme as Inspiring Case Study to Celebrate the 10 Years Programme Anniversary
Such an incredible journey!
When I moved to the UK as an internationally educated nurse, I never imagined that one day my work would be featured as a case study by the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme.
Yet here we are! 😊
I am honoured to be recognised as part of the 10-year celebration of a programme that has empowered healthcare professionals to transform ideas into solutions that improve patient care, workforce wellbeing, and healthcare systems.
Nurses Move was born from my own experience as an international nurse and from listening to the stories of thousands of nurses who have relocated across borders in search of professional growth and a better future.
What began as career coaching evolved into a much bigger mission:
To improve the retention, integration, wellbeing, and leadership development of internationally educated nurses and multicultural healthcare teams.
Because recruitment alone is not enough!
If we want a sustainable healthcare workforce, we must create environments where nurses feel valued, supported, included, and able to thrive.
Thank you to the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, Tony Young for creating a transformative environment where I was able to discover who I truly am, refine my vision, and turn an idea into a mission.
Thank you to my mentors, Tamsin Holland Brown Mark Clemmit Hinnah Rafique, the #NHSCEP team Lucy DenticePolly SullivanCharlotte MercerJenni PettyEmily Lloyd, to my colleagues Nardos T Wakjira, Sarah Sacoor, Gemma Poole, the nurses, midwives, healthcare leaders, and organisations who have supported this journey.
Finally, thank you to my incredible Clinical Entrepreneur Cohort 8. Every time we meet, I leave inspired, energised, and reminded of the extraordinary innovation happening across healthcare.
Most importantly, thank you to every Internationally Educated Nurse who trusted me with their story! Your experiences continue to inspire this work, this recognition belongs to all of you.
The next decade of healthcare innovation must include stronger nursing leadership, better workforce retention, and a louder nursing voice!
And we’re only getting started! 💪🏻
When nurses grow, healthcare grows with them. Stronger nurses create stronger teams, safer patients, fewer avoidable errors, lower workforce costs, and better outcomes for everyone.

Getrude Orodo, International Nurse and Career Coach
Before working with Dina, what was your biggest challenge?
As an internationally educated nurse, I went through a challenging journey transitioning and settling into the NHS. That experience inspired me to start a coaching business to support other internationally educated nurses. However, for a long time, I didn’t see myself as an entrepreneur. I knew I wanted to build something impactful and financially sustainable, but I didn’t know how to structure or package my coaching offer.I had followed Dina’s work for years and seen her build a powerful platform for nurses like me. I knew she was the right mentor to guide me, especially at a time when I felt stuck and unsure of my next steps.
What changed as a result of working with Dina?
I am currently undertaking Dina’s Nurse Career Coach programme, and it has been incredibly insightful and practical. The course is immersive, which I really value. It requires you to actively do the work, and through that process, I’ve gained deep clarity and confidence. The one-to-one coaching sessions have been especially powerful. They’ve given me a safe space to reflect, unpack challenges, and get tailored support. Through this journey, I’ve started to break down long-standing self-limiting beliefs and face my fears around building a profitable coaching business.
Concrete outcomes and results
One of my biggest wins so far has been creating and launching a survey for internationally educated nurses. The responses gave me real insight into their challenges, beyond my own experience, and helped me understand the exact language my ideal clients use.
With Dina’s guidance, I’ve also refined and strengthened my LinkedIn profile so it clearly reflects both my journey and my message. I am now actively working on developing my MVP (minimum viable product), which feels like a huge step forward.
Additionally, being part of the community has positively impacted my nursing career. Through a visibility challenge, I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined a Post-Critical Care Patient Support Group project. This experience has significantly boosted my confidence at work. I now speak up more and use my voice with greater intention.
What part of the programme or community is most valuable and why?
The community is one of the most valuable aspects of the programme. It’s incredibly supportive, positive, and genuinely uplifting. The reflection prompts encourage deep thinking about our careers and goals, and the discussions that follow are always meaningful. There is also a strong emphasis on self-care, which is so important in our profession. In such demanding roles, having a space where we look out for each other and offer support makes a real difference.
In 1–2 sentences
To go far, you need to walk with others. The Nurse Move Community by Dina Paolini is a powerful space for nurses who are not only passionate about their careers but also committed to their wellbeing.
Flavia Cotza, International Nurse, ICU, Manchester
I met Dina Paoloni after deciding to move abroad and to work abroad as a nurse.
I was seeking advice and guidance. A reliable and professional one. At that time
I thought that moving abroad and relocating is not as easy as it can be imagined.
In order to avoid scams, waste of time and money, and to have a clear path I
needed a professional able to understand my professional and personal needs,
my ambitions, and my whys. My biggest challenge was finding my way and
building a path that suits me. I wasn’t sure about where, when and how to move
abroad.
Dina saw in me the potential I was neither aware of. She gave me clarity I
couldn’t find on my own.I’ve been successful all along my journey. I found the answer to my “when, where
and how” questions. I currently work as a Band 5 ICU nurse, which is where I
wanted to work and where I intend to build my career.
I was successful in my job application and my first job interview with the NHS.
I managed to cope with the emotional stress caused by that whole lengthy
process by staying calm and keeping a clear head, which was essential to
ensuring I didn’t lose sight of my goal.Every step taken was always supported by advice and guidance given by Dina
Paoloni through her “Successful Expat Nurse Accelerator” programme first, the
book “The Awakened Nurse” and lately the “Nurses Move Career Coaching”
Community.
I think the most valuable part is coaching. Here is where I’ve shifted my mindset
progressively and had peer support.
Here is where I find clarity and where I’m able to focus on what matters more to
me. Through the coaching sessions I’ve understood how to take advantage of my
strengths and how to work on my weaknesses.
I have learnt to deal with the things that are within my control and not to let
myself be overwhelmed by external factors over which I have no control.
All these steps led me where personally and professionally speaking, I wanted to
be.I’m used to saying that courage is what makes the change happen.
Dina gives you this courage, guidance, and support that nurses and nurse
leaders need nowadays. Through her research, meticulous studies and personal
experience she is able to open doors in your career journey and help nurses
unlock the potential that may have been kept hidden.
She is the coach who empowers nursing teams to provide safe, high-quality
patient care while supporting nurse managers in strengthening staff retention
through effective team dynamics and leadership
She gives you the courage to step forward.

Letter of Appreciation and Gratitude
Dear Coach Dina Paoloni,
I hope this message finds you well.
First, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for everything you have done and continue to do for me. Your support, guidance, and mentorship have played a significant role in my success, both personally and professionally.
From my very first year in nursing school, you invested in me, believed in me, and helped shape me into a nurse and emerging leader with purpose. I am where I am today because of mothers and mentors like you.
You saw potential in me and strengthened my mindset to view life differently. I was simply a passionate young man searching for the right path to success, and by God’s grace, our paths crossed. Meeting you was one of the greatest blessings of my journey.
I can never truly repay you, but from the depths of my heart, I am grateful for everything you have done for me. Today, after writing my final examination paper, I almost burst into tears—not because of pain or disappointment, but because I reflected on how far I have come. Although I am not yet where I ultimately envision myself to be, I have made progress, and that is something worth celebrating.
Your endless guidance taught me to be a victor rather than a victim. As I walked out of the examination center today, I was filled with joy, realizing that every risk, sacrifice, and challenge was worth it.
I do not know if words alone can fully express what is in my heart, but gratitude and honor are the only gifts I can offer in return. I promise never to make you regret the day you chose to help Nyingsha Standley.
There is so much more I would like to say, but it would take a lifetime to express it all. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your love, support, wisdom, and belief in me.
Thank you so very much, Mother ❤️.
