This really captures what makes ICU nursing so uniquely intense, especially during the pandemic and as an international nurse adjusting to a new system on top of it. The pace and acuity in ICU is a different level compared to other units, which is part of why I looked into why ICU nurses specifically tend to burn out faster than nurses in other specialties. Thanks for sharing this real look into the day-to-day.
